Former Classmate Charged with Murder of K'Leigh Cundall

It's been a busy few days and this is my first chance to comment on the senseless murder of 21 year old K'Leigh Cundall. And to think that her ex-boyfriend, Anthony Roach, took her life so violently. He stabbed her in the face, neck, chest and back more than 30 times. What makes someone lose it like that? I guess it's the classic "if I can't have you, no one will". But the strange thing is that from everything I've read they never even had a serious relationship. But it's all perspectives I guess. How sad that her life ended so early...

This past Monday, my parents and I went to a vigil in her honour. It was a vigil to end violence against women. We had never been to one which is surprising considering how often they are actually held. It was the right thing to do. There was a small group of us but everyone who gets involved can make a difference.

Another recent tragedy is the double murder of two 20 year old men who were gunned down at a Chinatown karaoke bar Dec. 6. Both men Tailang Liu and his best friend Linhai Tian, were innocent victims in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Let's hope the police lay charges on these murders soon.
