Karla Homolka, Ralph Power & Justice in Canada

I could link you to numerous articles about Karla Homolka's release but what's the point? It's the headline story on virtually every newspaper. Her pathetic display of remorse and her plea for privacy on last night's CBC interview were unbelievable yet not surprising at the same time. We're talking about a woman who has always acted like she's the victim. A woman who's never truly taken responsibility for what she did in the murders of Mahaffey, French and her own sister. Given what we know now about her willing involvement in these murders, it's so sad there's nothing our justice system can do to change the 12-year sentence she just completed.

I can only hope that Canada's justice system - specifically the National Parole Board - hear our fears about the potential release of Ralph Power. Fortunately for us, Power got a life sentence so he could in fact be in jail for life. If you haven't already signed the petition to keep Power behind bars for life, please do now. Just visit http://www.powernoparole.ca/petition.html Power's parole hearing date is TBD but we need to be ready to make our voices count.

We even had a long section on the BBC News about the whole case and how she is complaining about her lack of privacy.
It has simalarities with a number of high profile cases in the UK which is probably why it grabbed so much attention over here.
Makes a change for me to know exactly what they were talking about, (thanks to this site).
